Publish Time: 2023-08-25     Origin: Site

Hydraulic systems are the lifeblood of various industries, powering heavy machinery, industrial equipment, and much more. At Yuyao Ruihua Hardware Factory, we understand the importance of hydraulic fittings in ensuring the seamless operation of these systems. In this comprehensive guide, we will delve deep into hydraulic fittings, their types, and their crucial role in various applications.

What Are Hydraulic Fittings?

Hydraulic fittings are mechanical components designed to connect two or more pipe or hose elements securely and efficiently. They play a pivotal role in hydraulic systems, which are commonly found in heavy machinery, the process industry, construction vehicles, industrial production equipment, and lifting and handling systems. These fittings are engineered to withstand high pressures and temperatures, providing a reliable connection in demanding working environments.

Hydraulic fittings can be crafted from various materials, including stainless steel, brass, aluminum, or plastic. Moreover, they come in diverse shapes and sizes to cater to the specific requirements of each application, whether it's a straight connection, an elbow, a tee, or a cross.

Types of Hydraulic Fittings

Hydraulic fittings are categorized into two main groups: high-pressure fittings and low-pressure fittings.

High-Pressure Hydraulic Fittings

High-pressure hydraulic fittings are designed for systems that convey fluids at elevated pressures, such as hydraulic systems in heavy machinery and drilling equipment. These fittings are engineered to withstand the rigors of high-pressure environments, ensuring a secure and durable connection.

Low-Pressure Hydraulic Fittings

Low-pressure hydraulic fittings, on the other hand, find their place in systems conveying fluids at lower pressures, like lubrication systems. They connect to pipes and hoses using various methods, including threading, compression, or mechanical bonding. These fittings come in a range of shapes, allowing for different angles and configurations to suit specific needs.

Proper installation and maintenance of hydraulic fittings are vital to prevent leaks and safeguard the integrity of the hydraulic system. In summary, hydraulic fittings are indispensable components in hydraulic systems, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the equipment and machinery that rely on them.

Exploring Hydraulic Fitting Types

Double Ring Fittings

Double-ring compression fittings, also known as compression union fittings or "Swagelok" fittings, are commonly used in medium to high-pressure fluid handling applications. They offer a secure, leak-tight connection and are easy to install without the need for soldering, glue, or special tools. These versatile fittings can accommodate different sizes of pipes and hoses, making them suitable for various applications.

At Yuyao Ruihua Hardware Factory, we offer a wide range of double ring fittings, including elbows, reducers, crosses, tees, valves, sleeves, and more. Our fittings are available in 316/L stainless steel, and we can manufacture them in other materials upon request. For detailed technical specifications, you can download our Double Ring Fittings technical data sheet.

ASME Hydraulic Fittings

Our ASME B16.11 3000, 6000, and 9000 PSI fittings are engineered for high-pressure industrial applications that demand a secure, high-pressure-resistant connection. These fittings adhere to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B16.11 specifications and come in various sizes and shapes to meet specific application requirements.

The ASME pressure rating, denoted by numbers like 3000, 6000, and 9000 PSI, indicates the maximum strength these fittings can withstand. ASME B16.11 3000 PSI fittings are suitable for high-pressure applications requiring a maximum strength of up to 3000 pounds per square inch. Meanwhile, ASME B16.11 9000 PSI fittings are ideal for the most demanding applications with a maximum strength of up to 9000 pounds per square inch. These fittings are available in NPT and Socket Weld connections, and we also offer them in BSPP. For detailed technical specifications, you can download our ASME Fitting technical data sheet.

Single-Ring Hydraulic Fittings

Redfluid’s single-ring fittings are meticulously designed to join pipes and tubing in hydraulic systems while adhering to the Deutsches Institut fϋr Normung DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 standard. Available in various sizes, ranging from 4 to 42 mm OD, these fittings can withstand pressures of up to 800 bar, depending on the series and pipe diameter.

Our range of single-ring fittings includes a diverse selection of shapes, including straight, cross, tees, elbows, mixed male or female x-ring thread, wall bushings, and weld fittings, among others. These fittings are offered in two standard materials: 316 stainless steel and carbon steel. Their ability to handle high pressures makes them an excellent choice for applications that require added strength.

Hydraulic Quick and Automatic Fittings

Hydraulic quick and automatic fittings come in two types: Push-in fittings and push-on fittings.

Push-On Fittings: These fittings consist of an outer metal nut and a small inner nipple. To achieve a watertight connection, insert the tube into the nipple and tighten it with the outer nut.

Push-In Fittings: In this type, the tube is inserted into the push-in fitting, and an outer ring, typically made of red or blue plastic, secures the tube without requiring additional nut tightening. These fittings are sometimes referred to as "Festo" type.

Both types of fittings are available in brass or stainless steel and come in various shapes, forms, and threads, including BSP, BSPT, NPT, and metric. They also vary in dimensions, accommodating outside diameters from 4 mm to 16 mm.

For those who prefer quick and automatic fittings, we recommend downloading our Automatic Fittings Technical Data Sheet for in-depth technical information.

High-Pressure Hydraulic Fittings

When working with pressures exceeding 400 bar and reaching up to 4140 bar, special connections known as "cone & thread" MP (Medium Pressure) or "cone & thread" HP (High Pressure) fittings are employed. MP products typically operate at up to 1380 bar, while HP products can handle pressures of up to 4140 bar.

Our high-pressure fittings selection includes needle valves, ball valves, check valves, as well as various fitting shapes like elbows, tees, sleeves, and plugs. These fittings are available in Male x Male, Male x Female, or Female x Female versions. They are commonly used in hydrogenerators and high-pressure hydrogen pipelines, offering watertight, high-pressure connections. It's essential to connect them to pipes with coned ends compatible with the rest of the fittings. We provide comprehensive solutions for coning installations and supply pre-coned products to your specified lengths.

Our high-pressure fittings are typically crafted from 316 stainless steel, and we offer customization services to meet unique requirements. For specific technical details, you can download our High-Pressure Fitting Technical Data Sheet.
